Chennestone Primary School is a large state primary school located in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, England.
History
Chennestone Primary School was founded in the 1950s as Manor Lane Primary School. In 1965, following local government re-organisation, Surrey County Council assumed responsibility for schools in the newly created Borough of Spelthorne, including Sunbury on Thames.[1] In 1967 the school changed its name to Chennestone to reflect the original Saxon name of the area, as referenced in the Domesday Book.[2]
