Chennai International Queer Film Festival
The Chennai International Queer Film Festival (also referred to as 'Reel Desires') is the latest in a series of queer film festivals that started in 2004.[1][2][3][4] It is hosted at the Goethe-Institut in Nungambakkam, and is run by volunteers and held in partnership with local and international LGBT groups and NGOs.
The festival is typically spread over two evenings and one half-day, and includes features, documentaries and shorts. Accompanying the film festival are panel discussions on the theme of LGBTQI inclusion, interfaces with film makers, photography/art exhibits and other performances. The event is funded through community donations and is non-ticketed.
