Chengdu Medical College (成都医学院) (est. 2004) is a medical college in Chengdu, China. Formerly known as PLA medical higher junior college and the Third Army Medical University, it was originally part of China's armed forces universities but was recently given back to the providence and re-established as an academic medical college.

The Chengdu Medical college is established during Chinese’s Liberation War in 1947. Initially, it was a health school of Military Area Command of Anhui Jiangsu of Henan Province, and renamed as PLA medical higher junior college in Chengdu in 1993, then it merged into the third army medical university in May 1999, rename as the third medical college of army of Chengdu of army medical university, is under the jurisdiction of the army to work out for a long time.The institute takes teaching of undergraduate course as the core, face 22 provinces in China and enrolls new students, train all kinds of high-quality, practical medical and health talents for the society.[1] Institute divide into basic medical college, cultural and educational social sciences portion, clinical department of medial science, department of pharmacy, medical science examine department, medical the intersection of image and department and the intersection of nursing and the intersection of department,etc. and 7 institutes ‘ Department) ,Open have clinical medicine, nursing, medical science examine and pharmacy, medical image study, employ psychology, the intersection of medicine and preparation, the intersection of biotechnology and 8 ‘ Specially) Speciality and a plurality of professional directions of department.[2]

In 2005, college invested over ten million RMB to build high technology of interactive teaching system of human anatomy, microscopic digital interactive teaching system, laboratory, applied psychology nursing classroom and functional laboratory. The school library has more than 459,000 books, 13,000 electronic foreign journals, and the electronic reading room[3]

This college in touch with many famous university, to keep communicates their skills and research, such as, Harvard University, University of Central Lancashire, University of Minnesota, ChongQing Medical University, Sichuan University, Third Military Medical University of Chinese. P.L.A, etc.[4]

Grounds

The institute is located in the north suburb of Chengdu, adjoin 3rd Ring Road, easily accessible. The campus trees are lush and green, evergreen all the year round, with beautiful environment, it is the good place of the study and life. Have two campus, which are Tianhui campus and Xindu District campus, covering a total area of 1500 acres[5]

Students and Teachers

There are more than 7000 full-time student in the college so far. Also, the college have a strong academic performance and experienced teaching team. There are 499 teachers, among them are180 professors and associate professors, accounting for 36.1% of the total number of teachers; with doctoral and master's degrees, 302 people, accounting for 60.5% of the total number of teachers, 45 people graduate instructors, 2 part-time doctoral tutors, 39 people are part-time master's tutor, 4 provincial teaching masters of Sichuan, and Wang Zhengguo as the honorary president of Chinese academy of engineering.[6]

College Reward

To support the low-income family and financial difficulties students to complete their study, the college has established a number of rewards and fund. Such as national student loans, student loans, offer works for student during their study, national scholarships inspirational (5,000 RMB/ year), state grants (2,000-4,000 RMB / year), Guangzhou grants (2,000 / life, years), Li Jiacheng grant (2,000RMB/ year), the Emei mountain Buddha Association grants (1000 yuan / year).
