ChenOne is a chain of fashion stores owned by Chenab Group (based in Faisalabad, Pakistan).[1] The first ChenOne store was opened in 1997 at Islamabad.[2] ChenOne has stores located in Pakistan and the Middle East.[3] Fashion products by ChenOne are featured in the fashion magazines of Pakistan.[4] The ChenOne kiosks are attractions in the Dubai Shopping Festival.[5][6][7]
Controversies and Legal Challenges
A 2010 Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) report into share manipulation found ChenOne and its CEO/owners complicit in manipulating the share price of ChenOne associate company Chenab Limited. ChenOne was found to be in violation of Securities and Exchange Ordnance 1969 Section 17 (a) & (e).[8] The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan subsequently in 2013 filed a criminal complaint against ChenOne, its associate Chenab Limited and the CEO of ChenOne Mr. Mohammed Naeem.[9] Other indivdials sued by the SECP included brothers of the CEO of ChenOne, namely Mian Muhammed Latif and Mian Muhammed Javaid Iqbal and other relatives namely, Mian Faisal Latif, Mian Farhan Latif, Mian Zeeshan Latif, Mian Rizwan Latif and Muhammed Irfan Maqbool. The said indivudals are currently out on bail [10]
