Charles Osborne (politician)
Charles Osborne, MP (1759 – 5 September 1817), was an Irish politician and judge.
Biography
He was the son of Sir William Osborne, 8th Baronet and wife Elizabeth Christmas. He sat as a Member of Parliament in the Irish House of Commons for Carysfort between 1790 and 1800 and served as a Justice of the King's Bench for Ireland between 1802 and 1817.
Marriage and issue
Charles Osborne married on 14 August 1793 his cousin Alicia Christmas (? - 16 May 1847), daughter of Thomas Christmas, Member of Parliament for Whitfield, and had two children:
- Elizabeth Osborne (? - 7 February 1833), married on 1 January 1823 General Sir Michael Creagh, KH (? - 14 September 1860), Knight of the Hanoverian Order, and had female issue
- William Osborne (May 1794 - 13 July 1867), Major in the 71st (Highland) Regiment of Foot, married on 7 July 1831 Helen Colt, daughter of John Hamiliton Colt of Gartsherrie, without issue
