Charles J. Cunningham (born 1932) was a Lieutenant General in the U.S. Air Force. His last post in the Air Force was as the Commander of the Air Force, Tactical Air Command at Bergstrom Air Force Base, Texas. After his retirement from the military he served as Director of the Defense Security Service until 2002. While working for the U.S. Department of Defense he held several executive positions within the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Defense Intelligence Agency.[1][2]

Prior to the Tactical Air Command he served as a deputy chief of staff at the U.S. Air Force Headquarters. Cunningham also served as deputy director for programs and evaluation.[3][4]
