Chandpur is a city and a municipal board in Bijnor district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.
Geography
Chandpur has an average elevation of 51 metres (167 feet).[1]
Chandpur is 150 km from the capital of New Delhi, 110 km from Meerut, and 38 km from Gajraula on National Highway 24 (Delhi to Lucknow). The Bijnor district is bordered by the districts of Meerut, Muzzafarnagar, Moradabad, Haridwar, Pauri Garhwal and Jyotiba Phule NagarRiver Ganga is 20 Kilometer from Chandpur.
Economics
Chandpur is developing as an industrial town. It has a paper mill,a flour mill, a sugar mill, a snacks factory, and few steel mills, pvc pipe factory, sulphur rolling factory, furnaces and chemical factory and computer parts exports. Agriculture is the main source of income in Chandpur, with sugarcane being the main crop. The main markets in the city are Ambedkar Chowk, Mandi Kotla, Dhali Bazar, Bazaria, Jama Masjid Bazar, Mina Bazar. Ambedkar Chowk is led by sayyeds and Dhali bajar is led by Agrawals and both places are the heart of city having Automobiles Showroom, Banks, Jewellery Showrooms, Cloth Market, mobile showrooms.
Now there is a Rural BPO in Chandpur and the name is Sookshm Information Services Pvt Ltd (SIS). Sookshm Information Services is a rural BPO company, founded by a team of professionals who had worked for various MNCs (mostly BPO companies) and the Government agencies. All the Founders are born and brought up in Chandpur and Bijnor and went Delhi for higher studies and after 14 years they came back to Chandpur and Bijnor because of social reasons and because of providing employment to the youth of Chandpur and Bijnor. Sookshm now have two delivery centers one in Chandpur and other one in Bijnor.

As of 2001, according to the India census, Chandpur had a population of 68,359. Males made up 53% of the population and females 47%. The average literacy rate was 52%, which was lower than the national average of 59.5%, with male literacy at 57% and female literacy at 47%. 16% of the population were under 6 years of age.[2]
