The Lightning Regiment Marching Band, known for its performance excellence from 1990-2008, again reached this level of success by receiving a Superior Rating in the 2011-2012 school year for the first time under its new director. This feat was achieved once again with a Superior Rating in the 2012-2013 school year.. The LRMB once again got a Superior Rating in the 2014-2015 school year. The Lightning Regiment Marching Band also received numerous first place trophies within its class and Grand Champion Trophies for the entire event.
The Symphonic Band also received a Superior Rating and thus was recognized as an Honor Band. Various other acclaimed ensembles made their beginnings at Chancellor High, including the Electet Electric Orchestra, the Synergy Wind Symphony, and the Jazz Band.
Gymnasium Roof Troubles
After the snows of the First North American blizzard of 2010 and the Second North American blizzard of 2010, the school's gymnasium roof caved downward several feet under the pressure of the snow's weight, closing the school for a week beyond when other schools had reopened. The gymnasium remained closed for nearly three weeks after the students returned.[2]
