Chan Mya Nyein (Burmese : ခ်မ္းၿမၿငိမ္း ) (born in Yangon in 1987) is a Burmese singer and model[1] known professionally as Chan Chan (Burmese : ခ်မ္းခ်မ္း ). She has released three solo album to date. She looks like Leona Lewis and was dubbed the "Leona Lewis of Myanmar". She represented the Paul Mitchell hair style products brand in 2009, and is currently the Brand Ambassador for Banchack Lubricant in Thailand.
Melody World
Chan Chan was the first runner up of Melody World singing contest organized by MyaWaDi Television.[2] Her winning song, "Thi Chin Lat Saung" is one of the tracks included in the album named The Best of Melody World 2007. "Thi Chin Lat Saung" became her first debut song and gained her extra fame as a singer in Myanmar.
Career
Chan Chan released her first album, Ta Kal So Yin A Chit Pal Lo Tal, shortly after winning the Melody World contest. "Love Is All We Need Indeed" ( တကယ္ဆိုရင္အခ်စ္ပဲလိုတယ္ ), the hit song of this album is the cover version of a famous Chinese song. She was awarded "Best-selling album - Female" by City FM in 2010. In 2011, she was titled the "Most popular female singer of the year" by City FM. Her second album Thape Chit Tal, A Yann Mone Tal was released in early 2012.[3]
Personal life
Chan Chan is the youngest daughter out of 4 siblings. During high school, she worked in sales as well as an air hostess. In university, she graduated with a major in English. Chan Chan began her show business career in 2007, when she won second place for both the Melody World singing contest. In 2013, she won the People Magazine modeling contest.
She married Phone Theik (Burmese : ဘုန္းသိုက္ ) in 2013.
