Chahal clan

Chahal, also spelled as Chahil and Chal, is one of the largest clan of Jat people in the Punjab region, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. At the time that H. A. Rose was writing, the tribe is mostly located in Patiala, but also found in, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, Firozpur, Jalandhar, Jind, Sonipat, Bhiwani, Hisar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Ambala of Haryana; Agra and Moradabad regions of western Uttar Pradesh and as far as Gujranwala and Sialkot districts of West Punjab.[1]
