Centre for London is a think tank based in the UK. It was founded in 2011 and launched as an independent registered charity in 2013. It produces, conducts, and publishes research into, and promotes public education in, the economic, social and policy issues shaping London.
Its current director is Ben Rogers, a writer on philosophy[1], former cabinet office strategist and member of the London Finance Commission.[2] Its network of Associates includes Professor Tony Travers, urbanist Greg Clark and economist Kitty Ussher.[3] A 2014 Centre for London report by Associate Charles Leadbeater coined the term Endies (short for Employed with No Disposable Income or Savings) in describing the large percentage of Londoners in work but struggling with the capital's high cost of living.[4]
In 2015 the Centre launched a new quarterly journal titled London Essays.[5]
