The Central Recreation Ground, Hastings was a cricket ground in Hastings, Sussex. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1864 and the last in 1996, following which Priory Meadow Shopping Centre was built on the site. Sussex County Cricket Club used the ground for some of their first-class fixtures, one in 1865 and subsequently between 1895 and 1989, and for List A matches between 1973 and 1989.[1][2]

Seven Gentlemen v Players matches were played on the ground between 1889 and 1903.[3] These matches were part of the Hastings Festival, which took place in September and was the southern equivalent of the Scarborough Festival in the north. The festival began in 1887[4] but lapsed in the mid-1960s.

In 1984 the England women's cricket team played a 55 overs a side one-day international match against New Zealand. England won by 46 runs. Jan Brittin scored 101 out of their 184-8 and New Zealand made 148-7 in reply.[5]

The match between Sussex and Kent in 1984 ended in a tie.[6]
