Central Private School is a private institution of learning located in Central, Louisiana, USA. It is one of several private schools located in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Faculty
The school faculty is made up of 56 teachers[1] who instruct in disciplines including, sciences, art, mathematics, language arts, physical education, social studies, and foreign language.[2]
Student body
While the majority of students are racially white, the student body is also made up of a minority of other ethnic backgrounds. The school enrolls students from throughout East Baton Rouge Parish, and surrounding areas.
Athletics
The school left the Louisiana Independent School Association in 1992, and became a member of the Mississippi Private School Association (MPSA). The MPSA changed its name in 2009 to the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools.[3] Central Private continues to be a member of this organization.
Baseball - Participating in the MAIS, the Rebels have a total of 12 state championships since the schools opening in 1971. Central Private won four consecutive state championships in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. The Rebels won four consecutive state championships again in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. while winning their last state championship in 2013
Football - After finishing 1-9 in 2005, the Rebels turned things around in 2006 with a 7-4 record. They landed a playoff berth and a District Championship (first since 1991). The Rebels lost in the first playoff round to Porters Chapel. The Rebels won their district again in 2008 and 2009.
