Centennial, California

Centennial, California, is a proposed 11,700-acre (47 km2) master-planned community[1] between Bakersfield and Los Angeles in Los Angeles County "northeast of Quail Lake and along Highway 138 going east."[1]

The community is planned to be built over 25 to 30 years, with approximately one-half of the 11,700-acre area designated as open space.[2] Susan Tae, a Los Angeles County regional planner, said that the number of houses planned will be "something closer to 17,000," designed for 70,000 people. The developers have said they plan to "develop local jobs nearly equal to the number of anticipated adult residents."[1]

Centennial is part of Tejon Ranch and has partnership with Tejon Ranch Company and three community developers, Lewis Operating Company, Pardee Homes and Standard Pacific Homes.[2]
