Celtis philippensis, is a species of flowering plant in the Cannabaceae family. It is found in Asian region.
Leaves
oblong-lanceolate, base rounded to pointed, long-pointed apex, margins remotely to coarsely toothed, scalloped to serrate, 3-veined at base. Flush pink; stipules peltate.
Trunk
young shoots puberulous.
Flowers
yellow; I- short puberulous.
Fruits
scarlet, ovoid drupe, with obtuse tip.
Ecology
intermediate forest subcanopy.
In culture
Known as "මැදිතෙල්ල - medithella" in Sinhala.
