Celebrity Survivor, also known promotionally as Celebrity Survivor: Vanuatu and Australia's Celebrity Survivor, was an Australian television series that screened on the Seven Network in 2006, based on the popular reality television show, Survivor. The new series joined the many celebrity-oriented reality programs already in their lineup, such as It Takes Two and Dancing with the Stars. It was hosted by Ian "Dicko" Dickson. Guy Leech, the eventual winner, or "Sole Survivor" of the show, donated A$100,000 to the charity of his choice, Ride Aid Inc, with the other contestants' charities receiving A$5000 each. Although better received than the earlier Australian Survivor, Celebrity Survivor was still only a modest success in the ratings and a follow-up series (weather civilian or celebrity edition) has not materialised, however Network Ten will air an Australian adaption of a similar program I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, for 2015.
Production
While the Nine Network currently hold the rights to screen the U.S. version of Survivor, after the failure of their 2002 local Survivor project Australian Survivor, the Seven Network found a loophole in their contract and obtained the rights to produce Celebrity Survivor.[1] Castaway Television, which produced Australian Survivor, was again involved in the production of this second Australian version Survivor. The show was filmed on Éfaté Island in Vanuatu in the South Pacific. The series was filmed over twenty-five days, or three weeks, from late May to early June 2006, with promotional advertising beginning in July. From promos and footage shown on the Seven Network, it appeared that Celebrity Survivor borrowed many elements from the U.S. version's ninth season, Survivor: Vanuatu - Islands of Fire. The one-hour show was rated PG (parental guidance recommended) and aired during Thursday nights on the Seven Network. The executive producer of Celebrity Survivor is David Mason, who also produces other shows on the Seven Network, such as Medical Emergency and The Mole.
Promotion
Before the series began, Dickson and a few of the Celebrity Survivor contestants appeared on the Seven Network's breakfast news show, Sunrise, to promote the series. This paralleled what occurs in the American version, when the show is promoted on The Early Show, CBS' own breakfast news program, and what happened during the Nine Network's Australian Survivor venture, when the series was featured on the early morning show, Today, as well as A Current Affair. Contestants, Amber Petty and Nicolle Dickson, also appeared in television commercials for Olay Total Effects, which were broadcast during the series.
Contestants
There were sixteen contestants overall, divided into two tribes, Moso and Kakula . After five contestants were eliminated, the tribes were combined, or merged, to form one tribe, Tanna . Five contestants made up the jury, who ultimately decided who would win the game.

Voting History
^5 Justin and Nicolle tied 2-2. The jury (Elton, Gabrielle, and David) voted in order to break the tie. All three voted against Nicolle.
Elimination Notes
- Kym: Kym couldn't stand the harsh conditions, and asked to be voted out. She then voted against herself at tribal council, becoming only the second person in Survivor history to do so. (6-0)
- Ben: Ben, the only non-celebrity in the game, was targeted and voted out unanimously. (5-1)
- Fiona: After the unexpected tribal swap, Kakula and Moso tribal lines held strong. David fooled around during the immunity challenge, causing Moso to lose. The Kakula alliance targeted Fiona for her weakness and annoyance, and the Moso alliance targeted David for making them lose the immunity challenge. However, Amber decided to betray her alliance and take out Fiona, whom she also clashed with. (3-2)
- Amber: Justin was deeply disturbed by Amber's betrayal, but Amber assured him she wouldn't do that again. However, Justin felt he couldn't trust her anymore so he helped David and Elton betray her and she was voted out. (3-1)
- Wayne: After winning the crucial reward and immunity challenges, Moso regained their power. At Kakula, Guy and Wayne targeted Imogen because of her weakness. Imogen and Nicolle targeted Wayne as they felt Guy would be stronger in challenges. Gabrielle was torn between joining her original alliance or siding with the women. In the end, she betrayed Guy and Wayne, helping Imogen and Nicolle take out Wayne. (3-2)
- Guy: When the Moso tribe was sent to the Kakula camp, they merged into the Tanna tribe. Guy was immediately targeted for his physical strength, and when he didn't win immunity, his tribe members pounced on the opportunity to get him out. (5-2)
- Elton: Elton, the other athlete, was also voted out for being a threat in challenges. David was the only one who didn't vote against him, as he voted for Gabrielle.(4-1-1)
- Justin: After unsuccessfully trying to bribe others to affect their voting strategies, everyone turned on Justin and voted him out. (4-1)
- Gabrielle: When David won immunity, the women had to turn on each other. David decided to help Imogen and Nicolle vote out Gabrielle, as he realized that there were too few people left and too many days, so he wanted to get on their good side. (3-1)
- David: Guy and Justin convinced Imogen and Nicolle to help vote out David. David was bitter about being voted out, but focused his anger at Imogen and Nicolle for betraying him. (4-1)
- Nicolle: The two alliances clashed at tribal council, with Justin and Nicolle receiving two votes each. When they went to tribal countback, they were still deadlocked with six votes each. The jury then voted, all three jury members voting for Nicolle. (2-2, Jury: 3-0)
- Imogen: Justin decided that he wanted to bring his original alliance partner Guy to the final two, and thus voted out Imogen. (1-0)
- Justin: Although praised for being a good player, Justin was criticized for his "bribery scandal" and lost out by one vote. He was voted for by Nicolle and Imogen. (2-3)
- Guy: Guy was viewed as a great physical and mental player. He was voted for by Elton, Gabrielle, and David. (3-2)
