Cedar Grove High School (CGHS) is located in south DeKalb County, Georgia at 2360 River Road, Ellenwood, Georgia in suburban South DeKalb County. It opened in the fall of 1972 with an enrollment of 512 students. CGHS is the home of the Marching Saints.

The enrollment has fluctuated over the years with the development of the surrounding area. In 1993, with the resurgence of housing developments in the area, enrollment began to increase.

Cedar Grove High has six computer labs -- one writing composition lab, one math/science lab, three business labs and a NAF AOIT Academy lab. There is a teacher computer in each classroom networked with internet access.

Since the Bill Gates Millennium Scholars Program inception, Cedar Grove High has had winners: (first year-2; second year-2; third year-1).

Notable alumni

Marcus McNeill attended Cedar Grove High School and played offensive and defensive line for the Cedar Grove Saints, earning SuperPrep All-American honors. He played in the Georgia-Florida High School All-Star Game as a senior. McNeill was also a standout track star finishing second in the state in the shot put.[1] Former professional soccer player Alfonso Smith, Jr. grew up in Ellenwood, Georgia where he was a Parade All American soccer player at Cedar Grove High School. Professional baseball player Xavier Tyrone Avery attended Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood. Basketball player Reggie Johnson also attended Cedar Grove High School. Football player B. J. Cohen also attended Cedar Grove High School. Professional basketball player Dion Glover also attended Cedar Grove High School. The other notable Alums consist of Ericc Baker who played college football at Concordia College Selma and finished his Career at Savannah State University along with Matthew Smith, Frank Usher and Travis Alston.
