Castropol is a County in Asturias, Spain. It is also a parish within that county and a town within the parish. The town of Castropol is the county seat.
The county of Castropol has a population of 3696 inhabitants (INE, 2014). It limits to the north with the Cantabric sea and to the west to the ria of Ribadeo, which separates it from the county of Ribadeo in Galicia. To the west it limits with Tapia de Casariego, El Franco y el Boal, other asturian counties. To the south with Vegadeo and Vilanueva de Oscos.
It is one of the municipalities in which eonaviego is spoken (a Galician-Asturian dialect).
