Castino is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) southeast of Turin and about 60 kilometres (37 mi) northeast of Cuneo. It is on a ridge between the Val Bormida and the Valle Belbo. Castino is one of the most famous cities in Langhe, Piedmont. It has a very famous romanic church the St.Margherita abbey. Usually castinesi organise a little colour-parade in the center of the town. Castino was the main town of Langhe between 1900 and 1950. It is famous for good panoramas and pretty houses. It has two suburbs (frazioni):Campetto, southeast of the city center and S.Bovo, northeast. Bosia was until 1981 a suburb of Castino; it then became an independent village.
