Castel (Guernésiais: Lé Casté; French Sainte-Marie-du-Câtel) is the largest parish in Guernsey in terms of area.
It hosts the North Show and Battle of Flowers in August, annually. It has several beaches including the popular Cobo, Grandes Rocques and Vazon Bay (popular surfing beach).
The parish church of St Marie de Castel is notable for its preserved medieval fresco and for the presence of a pre-Christian neolithic menhir in the churchyard, thought to be carved to represent a female fertility symbol.
Castel School is a primary school located in the area.
The old Guernésiais nickname for people from Castel was ânes pur sàng. It contains the La Grande Mare hotel and golf club. It is also home to one of the King George V Playing Fields
