Carshalton College is a further education college located in the Carshalton area of the London Borough of Sutton, in South London, England.
The college offers a range of courses for students from the surrounding area including vocational education, ESOL courses, apprenticeships and Access courses. The college also offers a provision of higher education level courses in conjunction with Canterbury Christchurch University, London South Bank University and Roehampton University. The college consistantly delivers finalists to the World Skills Game Development Competition and has a training function for teachers of games design across the country. The college runs World Skills UK Graphic design Competition. UK Team Game Development Competition. The STEAM International Film and Animation Festival is held annually celebrating the production achievements of level three students around the globe. The college also maintains an annual STEAM Fair, this is a celebration of career opportunities within technology and digital creative industries. This year it coincides with the election on 7 May 2015.
The college works closely with Adobe, Autodesk, Ogilvy Mather and Coley Porter Bell as well as a number of other Advertising agencies on its Computing and Creative Industry Courses. It maintains a high profile Apprenticeship programme including Creative and IT sectors. It maintains a partner relationship with the Ideas Foundation. The Computing and Creative Industries Department functions on the driving edge of vocational education working on programs with the Institute of Education, UCL. to strengthen vocational education on a national basis. On the Loop it is the highest rated college in the country for student satisfaction. Ofsted Graded 'Good' in 2014 The college is part of a groundbreaking federation with Kingston College and continues to deliver first rate vocational education in South London.
