Carrie Hope Fletcher

Carrie Hope Fletcher (born 22 October 1992) is an English musician, actress, writer and vlogger from London, England. Fletcher has released three singles and has a fan base of over 500,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel titled ItsWayPastMyBedTime.^[1] Additionally, Fletcher has a second channel called TwentyThirtyTwo, which has over 75,000 subscribers.

She is currently playing Éponine in the Les Misérables production at the Queen's Theatre in London. When she was younger she also played young Éponine, making her the only actress to play both adult and child Éponine in the West End. In November–December 2014 she played Beth in the final arena tour of Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds. In May 2014, she announced her first book, All I Know Now: Wonderings and Reflections on Growing Up Gracefully, which was released April 23rd 2015.^[2]

Early life

Fletcher grew up in South Harrow, England.^[3] Her father, Bob, worked at Kodak and her mother, Debbie, worked as a learning support teacher.^[4] Her older brother Tom Fletcher is a lead vocalist and guitarist of the band McFly and is currently in supergroup McBusted. She started acting when she was just five years old, in a short Channel 4 ident before starring in a Honey Nut Cheerios^[5] commercial. Fletcher has also played several short television roles, including Jenny in the CITV show "Dog and Duck". <ref name="Whatsonstage.com"/ Carrie has a nephew Buzz Michelangelo Fletcher (born 13 March 2014) from her brother, Tom, and sister-in-law, Giovanna Fletcher.

Theatre

Fletcher played her first major role, Young Eponine from Les Misérables, at the age of seven. She landed a spot in the original cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the age of nine, and acted in the original cast of Mary Poppins in Bristol at the age of eleven. Her West End credits include The Wind in the Willows at Regents Park, Jane Banks in Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre, Jemima in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Palladium, and Young Eponine in Les Misérables at the Palace Theatre in 2001.^[6] She replaced Danielle Hope in Les Misérables at the Queen’s Theatre in London in June 2013 as Eponine, making her the only British Actress to play both Young Eponine and older Eponine.^[7] She also featured in War of the Worlds on the UK tour in late 2014. In early 2014, Carrie Hope Fletcher confirmed that after she ends her Les Misérables run in 2015, she will be cutting 7-12 inches of her hair off for charity.

Fletcher originally started her YouTube channel, ItsWayPastMyBedTime, to post covers of popular songs as well as some original material. As her audience grew, she began to post travel vlogs, stories, and short sketches. She has since amassed a large following of over 564,700 subscribers, who refer to themselves as the "Hopefuls" (taken from her middle name, Hope).

In early 2014 she started a new series of videos with her brother, Tom Fletcher and his wife Giovanna in which they post online video 'letters' to one another. The series is entitled 'Dear Tom&Gi and Dear Carrie'. Her videos comprise mostly of vlogs and, on occasion, song covers and original pieces.

Music

Fletcher has produced four singles and has been featured in other artists’ work, such as Charlie Yang’s “Nobody Can Fix This”, released in 2012. She performed to benefit Sheytoons at the St. James Theater, as well as Ramin Karimloo on his 2012 "Road To Find Out" tour.^[8] She posts numerous covers on her YouTube channel, occasionally featuring her brother Tom and other YouTubers. She also is featured in Alex Day’s 2013 album Epigrams and Interludes on the songs covering “Poison” and “This Kiss.”
