Carol Hitchcock

Carol Hitchcock is an Australian singer and actor.

Hitchcock was a recording artist for Mushroom Records in Australia in the late 1980s. She was well known for her very severe look; a bald head, nose ring and many ear piercings. Before her recording career she was a model and also part time bouncer for various Melbourne nightclubs.

In 1987, she flew to London to record a cover version of The Temptations' Motown classic "Get Ready" with hit makers Stock Aitken and Waterman (SAW). She also recorded a second song for the B-side, "More Than Words Can Say"; a new version of a track featured on fellow SAW artists, Mel and Kim's album, FLM and was also a future recording for Hazell Dean. "Get Ready" was a Top 40 single in Australia but in the UK it flopped, peaking at #56.[1]

Hitchcock also appeared on the charity record to aid the Zebrugge Ferry Disaster, covering The Beatles' song "Let It Be". The record also featured many big artists of the time, including Sir Paul McCartney, Kate Bush and Bananarama.[2]

Hitchcock also did some acting in the 80's, including an appearance in Prisoner in 1985.
