Carlton Your Doorman

Carlton Your Doorman was an animated television special starring the (previously) unseen doorman Carlton from the sitcom Rhoda. As on Rhoda, Carlton's voice was provided by Lorenzo Music. This was the only animated production from MTM Enterprises (although The Duck Factory - a sitcom set in an animation production company - included cartoon segments, and the closing credits of many MTM series included animated clothing and accessories superimposed on Mimsie the Cat).

It was a pilot for a weekly series which never materialized. The show aired on CBS May 21, 1980, piggybacking the Chuck Jones special Bugs Bunny's Bustin' Out All Over.

It was revealed in this animated special that Carlton was a relatively young man, with shoulder-length blond hair & mustache. It is also one of the last animated pilots to use a laugh track, which was a common practice in the 1960s and the 1970s.
