Carbon Hill is a census-designated place in central Ward Township, Hocking County, Ohio, United States.[1] Although it is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 43111. As of 2012, the population was approximately 700[2]
State Route 278, located on the western edge of Carbon Hill, is its main north-south street.
History
Carbon Hill was laid out in 1873. Coal (a carbon-based fuel) was extensively mined there.[3]
