Capital punishment in Guatemala

Capital Punishment is legal in Guatemala. A moratorioum was placed on it from 2000–2010, but the ban was lifted by President Colom. He stated he would not pardon persons sentenced to death, and that executions would resume. Currently, the method of execution is by lethal injection. The only crime punishable by death is aggravated murder and several military and political crimes.
