Cantiere navale fratelli Orlando
Cantiere navale fratelli Orlando (Orlando Brothers Shipyard) is an Italian shipyard. Founded in 1866 in Livorno, it was amalgamated into Società per la Costruzione di Navi, Macchine ed Artiglierie Odero-Terni-Orlando (later OTO Melara) in 1929. It was purchased after World War II by Gio. Ansaldo & C. In 1963 Ansaldo decided to dispose of the shipyard and it was acquired by Cantiere Luigi Orlando SpA. In turn, the struggling shipyard was merged into Fincantieri on 1 January 1984. Fincantieri decided to close the shipyard, but it was bought by Azimut-Benetti, builders of luxury yachts, in 2003.
