The 2015 Cantabrian parliamentary election will be held on Sunday, 24 May 2015, to elect the 9th Parliament of Cantabria, the regional legislature of the Spanish autonomous community of Cantabria. At stake are all seats in the Parliament, determining the President of Cantabria. The number of members will decrease from 39 to 35 compared to the previous election

The election will be held concurrently with the regional elections for 12 other autonomous communities, as well as the 2015 municipal elections.

Electoral system

The number of seats in the Parliament of Cantabria is set to a fixed-number of 35. All Parliament members are elected in a single multi-member district, consisting of the Community's territory (the province of Cantabria), using the D'Hondt method and a closed-list proportional representation system.

Voting is on the basis of universal suffrage in a secret ballot. Only lists polling above 5% of valid votes (which include blank ballotsfor none of the above) in all of the community are entitled to enter the seat distribution.[2]
