History
The Canadian International (CIS) School located in Singapore opened in 1990. As an IB World School, CIS offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. CIS has two campuses in Singapore, the new Lakeside Campus at Jurong West and the Tanjong Katong Campus in Singapore's East.
Campus
The school consists of two campuses:
- Lakeside Campus (ECE to Grade 12) at 7 Jurong West Street 41
- Tanjong Katong Campus (ECE to Grade 8)
The Tanjong Katong Campus was opened in September 2007 and is housed in the newly renovated premises of the old Tanjong Katong Girls' School.
The new Lakeside campus, set on 43,000 sq.m. of land, provides students with facilities that include classrooms, academic facilities, sporting, outdoor and playground facilities, as well as a Performing and Fine Arts Centre, Auditorium and double storey Library. The campus is accessible via public transport.
The key design concept of the school, known as “Schools-within-a-School”, sees communities of grade level classrooms built around central learning pods.
