Awareness campaigns

Noisy Toys campaign

CASLPA has worked hard to raise awareness of the dangerous effects of noisy toys. It encourages the government to conduct further study on noise related to toy safety and revise current legislation. CASLPA is supportive of legislation advocating the reduction of allowable noise decibel level in toys from the current 100 db to 75 db.

Concerned About Classrooms

The Concerned About Classrooms Coalition is a CASLPA-led group of organizations whose goal is to enhance the learning environment of millions of students and the vocal health of teachers in Canada. This CASLPA-led group lobbies the federal government to encourage provincial governments to implement acoustical standards for Canadian schools.

Speech and Hearing Awareness Month

CASLPA organizes a "Speech and Hearing Awareness Month" in May. This month is dedicated to the early detection and prevention of communication disorders and seeks to increase the public’s sensitivity to the challenges faced by individuals experiencing them.
