Campus Gotland

Some parts of the college is situated in old industrial buildings.

Uppsala University - Campus Gotland (Swedish: Högskolan på Gotland) is a campus of Uppsala University and a former university college (högskola) previously known in English as Gotland University located in Visby on Gotland, Sweden.[1] The school became a part of Uppsala University on July 1, 2013, from whence the entity is known.

The university college was originally established in 1998 and had around 4 300 registered students in 2007, many of them part-time and distance students.[2] The main building which used to be an old Whiskey distillery is located in the central part of Visby, between the city marina and the Almedalen park. The Rindi Student Union, which organises the students, has its own building, called Rindi-borgen.

Gotland Game Awards

Each year at the start of June, a grand event called Gotland Game Awards (GGA) is held. Here the students belonging to the campus are allowed to show off games[3] and movies[4] that they have produced during the past year. Among the guests are recent PhD Candidate Mirjam Eladhari,[5] game design guru Ernest Adams,[6] alumni[7] as well as national and international professionals.[8] These combined with the populace of Gotland, makes GGA one of the biggest and best game and CG related award ceremonies in Europe.
