Calophyllum thwaitesii is a species of flowering plant in the Calophyllaceae family. It is found only in Sri Lanka.
Leaves
ovate to suborbicular, base cordate, lateral veins parallel; flush white, pendulous.
Trunk
Bark - rough, deeply fissured, pinkish yellowish brown; Immature Bark - brownish red; white latex.
Flowers
yellowish white; Inflorescence - axillary racemes.
Fruits
globose drupe.
Site
rain forest canopy of wet zone.
Uses
Wood - decorative timber.
Culture
Known as බටු කින ( batu kina ) in Sinhala.
