Calophyllum bracteatum is a species of flowering plant in the Calophyllaceae family. It is found only in Sri Lanka where it is known as වලු කින (walu kina) by local people.
Leaves
dimorphic; ordinary leaves oblong, long pointed apex, veins parallel, prominulous; other leaves are in 2-8 pairs in between ordinary leaves, small, overlapping; flush whitish, limp, pendulous.
Trunk
Bark - deeply fissured, yellowish stripes; Immature bark - beefy red; branches pedulous; branchlets quadrangular, densely rusty tomentose; latex resinous, whitish.
Flowers
white; Inflorescence - axillary, rusty tomentose, pendulous racemes.
Fruits
pendulous, smooth, globose drupes.
Ecology
rain forest subcanopy along stream ways and river courses of wet zone.
Uses
ornamental; Wood - heavy construction, furniture.
