California Digital Newspaper Collection

The California Digital Newspaper Collection or CDNC is a freely available archive of some thirty-nine California newspapers, both archive and modern. A significant portion of the collection is public domain due to its age. The project is part of the Center for Bibliographical Studies and Research,[1] hosted in the University of California Riverside.[2] In excess of six million articles are held.

Mechanism

The newspapers are scanned and OCRd. Both images and OCR are made available, registered members may correct the OCR.
