California Central Railroad
The California Central Railroad, incorporated on April 21, 1857, ran a 5 ft (1,524 mm) gauge line on one track between Folsom and Lincoln that was completed on October 31, 1861.[1][2]
On April 26, 1864 the Central Pacific Railroad opened to a line to Roseville that was 18 miles (29 km) long, where it made a junction with the California Central Railroad, operating from Folsom north to Lincoln.
On July 22, 1868, the company was foreclosed and existing operations were purchased by the California and Oregon Railroad.
