Caleb Maupin is an American journalist[1] and political analyst.[2] He is a member of Workers World Party.[3] His political activism began while attending Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio.[4] In 2010, he video recorded a confrontation between Collinwood High School students who walked out to protest teacher layoffs and the police.[5] His video footage resulted in one of the students being acquitted in juvenile court.[6] He was a figure within the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York City.[7][8][9] Maupin writes on American foreign policy and other social issues.[10] Maupin supports New York City politician Charles Barron, and has also made numerous appearances on RT and Press TV.[11] He was a featured guest at the 2014 New Horizon Conference in the Islamic Republic of Iran.[12][13] On September 6, 2013, he appeared on CNN as a representative of those protesting US intervention in Syria.[14]
