Cajón de rumba
The cajones de rumba are rhythmic percussion instruments. They consist of wooden boxes, in the modalities of cajón tumbadora, cajón bajo and cajita, which are played with hands in the performance of rumba music of Cuba.
These boxes, that arrived to Cuba full of imported cod or another fish, were adapted as drums. The big boxes were used as tumbadora and the small ones as quinto. The claves, were formed with two wooden spoons hit in reverse side.
