Caerphilly (Welsh: Caerffili) is a county constituency centred on the town of Caerphilly in South Wales. It returns one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, elected by the first past the post voting system.
The constituency has always elected Labour MPs.
Boundaries
The Caerphilly constituency covers roughly the southern and eastern half of Caerphilly district, the part of the district traditionally located in Glamorgan. In the north-west of the constituency are communities such as Hengoed and Ystrad Mynach, travelling in a southeasterly direction through Caerphilly and Llanbradach to the rural outcrops bordering Cardiff.
