Caenides dacela, the Common Recluse, is a butterfly in the Hesperiidae family. It is found in Senegal, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Bioko, Gabon, the Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, western Kenya, western Tanzania and northern Zambia.[2] The habitat consists of forests.
The larvae feed on Raphia and Phoenix species (including Phoenix dactylifera).
