Community and Parent Support

PTSA/Friends of Magnet The over 600 member strong (2012 Numbers)PTSA at Caddo Magnet High School is an organization that represents every part of our community - the parents, the teachers and staff, and the students. Because we are a passionate group that works hard on many fronts to make sure that all of our students have the opportunity to be successful, we value and seek input from as wide a spectrum of viewpoints and experiences as possible. We meet monthly, advocate on many levels, raise funds to support our many projects, and invite all members of our community to take an active part in what we do, because we believe participation in the PTSA is a great way to stay connected with your child and Caddo Magnet High School. There are many ways for you as individuals, parents, and families to be involved with this PTSA. Whether you are a newcomer or a seasoned Magnet parent, we invite you to join us! Maecenas Society

The Maecenas Society-CMHS Foundation—Enhancing the Classroom Experience Named for a Roman patron of literature and the arts, the Maecenas Society was formed in 1995 by a group of parents who wanted to provide significant financial support to Caddo Magnet High School in its continuing quest for excellence. A purely philanthropic organization now composed of parents, grandparents, and friends of current and former students, the Society exists for the sole purpose of funding the much needed "big ticket" items that are not provided by the Caddo Parish School Board and that may be beyond the reach of other fund-raising efforts. As indicated, the Society has provided over $500,000 for the funding of a number of hi-impact, primarily technology-oriented projects.Utilizing the practical input of our talented faculty as well as the visionary insight of our Principal, Miss Mary Rounds, the Maecenas Board will channel this year's contributions into projects that have the potential to favorably impact the overall educational experience at Magnet in the current school year and many years to come. Each year the Society also funds the Mary Jane Malone Lecture Series, which brings a nationally-recognized author to the school for the benefit of the students and the Shreveport community.
