Placement scam

Reports surfaced in 2012 that students of the college have been cheated of millions of rupees in the name of placement assurances. Students who have joined the college with the promise that they will be given placements in top companies were cheated. The principal of the college undertook fraudulent and illegal activities. In spite of repeated suggestions from the management to retire, he had refused to do so. The college management had collected Rs. 3000 to Rs. 4000 from each student for providing campus interviews and did not provide the placement facilities.

The college had brought a company named IBM (from Gurgaon) for conducting campus interview and 12 students were selected and were given offer letters. But these offer letters were later proven to be fraudulent and the company was found to be a false flag company impersonating the real IBM.[3][4]

The principal, Placement officer of the college, Administrative officer etc. were arrested for the scam, and were suspended from the college by the management.[3][5]
