CR Belouizdad
Chabab Riadhi Belouizdad (Arabic: شباب رياضي بلوزداد) referred to as CR Belouizdad is an Algerian football club based in the Mohamed Belouizdad district of Algiers. It was founded in 1962 and their home stadium is Stade 20 Août 1955.
CR Belouizdad is one of the most successful clubs in Algerian football, having won the domestic league title 6 times and the Algerian Cup 6 times. They have also won the defunct Maghreb Champions Cup 3 times.
History
CR Belouizdad was founded as Chabab Riadhi Belcourt on July 5, 1962, the day Algeria declared its independence from France, with the merger of two clubs, Widad Riadhi Belcourt and Chabab Athlétique Belcourt.[1] It was the first Algerian club created post-independence. In 1991, the name of the club was changed to its current name of CR Belouizdad.
