CPAConnect is an affiliate association of CPAmerica International made up of small, independent Certified Public Accountant firms and sole practitioners with nearly 200 members in almost 40 U.S. states, Puerto Rico and Mexico. CPAConnect is a companion association to CPAmerica International, one of the nation’s largest associations of major independent CPA firms.[1] Both associations operate out of CPAmerica’s headquarters building in Gainesville, Florida. CPAConnect members have firm revenues of up to US$ 2 million, while CPAmerica firm revenues range from $2 million to $60 million.[2]
Total revenue of all CPAConnect firms is approximately $155 million. Average firm size is seven employees, which includes two partners. The total number of employees nationwide surpasses 1,650.[3]
CPAConnect members receive practice management advice, CPE training,[4] marketing products and access to national consultants. They share knowledge and information through e-mail discussion lists, conference calls, an online sharing library, an annual CPAConnect conference and other conferences with CPAmerica members.
History
Founded in 1994, CPAConnect was created by its parent association, CPAmerica International. Within a year, membership had grown to 60 firms. By 2004, membership had expanded to include more than 150 firms and, by 2010, nearly 250 firms.[5]
Affiliated Organizations
CPAmerica International CPAConnect’s parent association, CPAmerica International, is one of the largest associations of independent CPA firms in the United States. Its membership includes more than 80 firms with almost 170 offices in 40 states. Total personnel of these firms approaches 4,500 employees, which includes more than 700 partners. CPAmerica member firms vary in size from $2 million to $60 million in firm revenues. The average member size is approximately $8.2 million. The number of personnel at CPAmerica firms ranges from 15 to 245 employees.[6]
Crowe Horwath International Through CPAmerica International, CPAConnect has an international alliance with Crowe Horwath International. Crowe Horwath has nearly 600 offices worldwide with almost 30,000 employees. In 2009, it was ranked as the ninth largest accounting organization in the world.[7] Worldwide revenue of Crowe Horwath International firms is almost $3 billion, of which approximately $830 million is from CPAmerica affiliated firms.[8]
