Sin Piedad (2001) Apocalipsis CMLL 69th Anniversary Show

Apocalipsis (Spanish for "Apocalypse") was a professional wrestling Pay-Per-View (PPV) event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) that took place on March 17, 2002 in Arena México, Mexico City, Mexico. The main event of Apocalipsis was a Lucha de Apuesta, hair vs. mask match between Gran Markus, Jr., who put his hair on the line and El Venero, who put his mask on the line. The show also featured a Six-man "Lucha Libre rules" tag team match for the vacant CMLL World Trios Championship as Blue Panther, Fuerza Guerrera and Dr. Wagner, Jr. faced Antifaz del Norte, Black Warrior and Mr. Niebla. The show featured three additional Six-man "Lucha Libre rules" tag team matches and a tag team match that involved CMLL's Mini-Estrella, or minis, division.

Background

The event featured six professional wrestling matches with different wrestlers involved in pre-existing scripted feuds or storylines. Wrestlers portray either villains (referred to as Rudos in Mexico) or fan favorites (Técnicos in Mexico) as they compete in wrestling matches with pre-determined outcomes.
