The CCGS Cape Commodore is one of the Canadian Coast Guard's 36 Cape class motor life boats.[1] The vessel was built in Victoria Shipyards, in Vancouver, British Columbia. The vessel was stationed in Tobermory, Ontario, in September 2005. In September 2005, at her dedication, local Member of Parliament, Paul Steckle said: "Dedicated search and rescue lifeboats, like this one, demonstrate the federal commitment to ensuring the highest levels of safety to our boating public and shipping industries. Continuing to enhance our search and rescue capabilities provides undeniable benefit to all of us who utilize and enjoy the many advantages that the Great Lakes provide to Canadians".
The vessel is stationed in Tobermory as of July 2014
