CAF Beach Soccer Championship

The CAF Beach Soccer Championship is the main championship for beach soccer in Africa. The first championship was held in September 2006 in Durban, South Africa, as all following tournaments were until 2011, when the tournament was moved to Casablanca, Morocco. The two finalists of the competition qualify for the following FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. The most successful nation is Senegal, who have won the tournament three of the six times, and have qualified for the World Cup four times.
Now that the World Cup takes place every two years, so will the qualifiers, starting with the qualifiers for the 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
