C. P. Surendran
C. P. Surendran (born 1956) is a poet, novelist and journalist from India.
Biography
Born to Malayalam writer and rationalist Pavanan and Parvathy, C. P. Surendran received his M.A. in English Literature from Delhi University, Delhi. He taught English literature for a short while at Calicut University before moving to Mumbai to work as a journalist with many English newspapers including The Times of India, Times Sunday Review and Bombay Times among others. He was resident editor of The Times of India in Pune for three years and senior editor with The Times of India in Delhi. He is currently chief editor, DNA. A selection of his poems was included in Gemini II (1994) . He published his first collection of poems titled Posthumous Poems in 2000 and went on to publish three more critically acclaimed collections: "Posthumous Poems", "Canaries on the Moon" and "Portraits of the Space We Occupy". His first novel An Iron Harvest, about the Naxalite uprising in Kerala, was published by Indiaink in 2006. He currently lives in Mumbai.
