Bystrz [bɨstʂ] (German: Bystrz; 1938-45: Brücknersmühl) is a settlement in the administrative district of Gmina Świętajno, within Szczytno County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) north-east of Świętajno, 26 km (16 mi) east of Szczytno, and 60 km (37 mi) east of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (East Prussia). Following World War II the native German populace was expelled and replaced by Poles.
