Buturlinsky District (Russian: Бутурли́нский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the forty-three in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeastern central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,105.2 square kilometers (426.7 sq mi).[1] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Buturlino.[1] Population: 14,471 (2010 Census);[3] 16,723(2002 Census);[6] 16,792(1989 Census).[7] The population of Buturlino accounts for 44.3% of the district's total population.[3]
