Busted Halo
Busted Halo is a network of ministry and media run by the Paulist Fathers. Busted Halo encourages young adults to explore, grow in and share their faith through contemporary communication tools. Its main components are the bustedhalo.com website and a Sirius XM Radio show. Busted Halo takes its name from the idea that all God's children are "saints in the making" yet everyone's spiritual journey is fraught with imperfections, struggles and mistakes.
bustedhalo.com is an internet destination where spiritual seekers can explore their spirituality, listen to and encourage one another, and discover (or rediscover) the rich depths of Catholic tradition. It includes feature articles, columnists, bloggers, podcasts and video series on current events, culture and the spiritual journey. The Googling God section of bustedhalo.com offers guidance and information on Catholic teaching and practice. Resource guides help to connect seekers to communities of faith where their unique gifts will be respected and used, and where they will find support on their journey towards God. Parishes, campus ministries and bloggers use an RSS feed of bustedhalo.com to provide content to their communities.
"The Busted Halo Show with Father Dave Dwyer" encourages and informs spiritual seekers through satellite radio. It airs Monday through Friday, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern time on the Catholic Channel on the Sirius XM satellite radio network (Channel 129). The show includes regular features as well as celebrity interviews and listener contests. It is hosted by Fr. Dave Dwyer, CSP, who is also publisher of bustedhalo.com.
In addition to speaking directly to young adult seekers, Busted Halo supplies tools to parishes and dioceses in the United States and Canada to help them connect with young adults in their communities. Busted Halo was founded in September, 2000, by Fr. Brett Hoover, CSP, and Mike Hayes. Busted Halo Ministries is under the direction of Fr. Dave Dwyer, and owned by the Paulist Fathers.
